I just bought the backline, and so far I have no problems with it. I keep a regular fan on behind it, so its fine. The only problem is that the head doesn't have a fan built in, so you gotta make sure that it stays cool. It's got that Gallien-Krueger sound for a great value. Its about 3 times louder than my Peavey TNT 115!!! Which has about 25watts more power! This is a awsome little amp!!! Its got a ton of features, and u can get just about any tone from it. You get a 4-band active EQ, adjustable contour, effects loop, Boost valve effect, XLR out with ground and pre/post switch, and tuner out. The Gallien-Krueger Backline 250 Bass Head features 125W of thunder. Massive tone and flexibility, easy on your wallet. Hear's some info and comments from one of our favorite retailers. You'll be the first to be setup & torn down. You just use as a stage monitor and let the PA balance out the room. If you've got a decent PA the direct out will get more air moving and be really easy to setup. Very easy to transport as its two rack spaces small and lightweight. Probably a plug already on the board if you wanted to add one. It's very similar to the 600 model so I would guess adding a fan wouldn't be hard. It is a small amp and can hold its own but if you want to be going nuts and playing clubs without using the direct out you should be looking at at a larger amp. Turn everything to 10 and the protection circuit will kick in so its worth the time to learn where that point is and avoid any shut downs during a session. Throw a compressor/limiter into the FX Loop and no problem. Takes a bit of tweaking to get the tone vs limiter/shutdown circuit from kicking in. With a foot pedal you have some good options to pick from. THe B channel is just pure powerful bass that again is very tweakable. "Overdrive" channel can be tweaked for some serious growl. No Foot Pedal but it'll use any on/off latching switch with a regular instrument cable.
